About Rector

Prof. Dr. Ali Poyraz Gürson is a distinguished academic and university administrator with extensive expertise in international relations, geopolitics, foreign policy, political history, and security studies.

In 2026, he was appointed Rector of International Alasia University, where he leads the University’s academic and institutional development with a strong focus on internationalization, research excellence, and contemporary higher education standards.

Throughout his career, Prof. Gürson has held key academic and administrative positions at prominent higher education institutions, including Atılım University, Kocaeli University, Istanbul Okan University, and Girne American University. He was awarded the title of Professor in 2020.

Prof. Gürson completed his undergraduate education at the Turkish Military Academy and the Department of Journalism at Marmara University. He earned his master’s degree from Istanbul University and his doctoral degree from Ege University.
